Abstract :
Conventional Network on Chip (NoC) mapping is based on fixed topologies and lacks of flexibility. In this paper, we propose a topology and mapping co-design method, which utilizes high-speed and bandwidth flexibility of wireless NoC to adapt the mapping to the best-fit topology. By studying two real communication systems as examples, the experimental results prove that the proposed co-design method can achieve remarkable performance enhancement compared with the traditional mapping algorithm by reducing the power consumption and I/O critical delay by at least 16.1% and 2.1% respectively.
