  • Abstract
Exergames can be used as a resource to support learning of movements, sports moves or simply as a tool to increase caloric expenditure. Its use is also related to alternative forms of entertainment and exercise. Within this perspective, this study aims to analyze the motivational level and willingness of children and adolescents from eight to fourteen years-old to practice physical activities with exergames in Physical Education classes. Our research methodology followed a non-participant observation approach. Students were observed for a period of 3 months in an exergame lab at the Israeli School located in Porto Alegre, Brazil. A total of 24 students, of both genders, participated in the experiment. Results showed that students joined the activities with motivation and interest, presenting also gains in their practice of physical activity and development of social skills among the classmates during the meetings at school.
