Abstract :
Natural latex has been used with success in the reconstructions of the esophagus, of the abdominal wall and of the pericardium of animals, as a device to treat obesity and in inner sole with control of the plantar pressure for the diabetic foot. This article presents a new applicability proposal of the latex in patients with tendency to develop amblyopia, a visual acuity deficiency, in this sense it is idealized a contact lens of natural latex for total and gradual occlusion of the eye as new tool to treat such disease. Therefore, it is intended to develop a product that accomplishes the occlusion of the eye destined to children, with low cost and high effectiveness and with larger acceptance degree on the part of the patient with a smaller indisposition and trauma than caused it by the lid.
