Abstract :
A Photo-based Augmented Reality system (Photo AR) is a method that implements AR by pasting photo images onto a scene without using a 3D model. Although it eliminates the need to prepare 3D models, it consumes a large volume of disk space. In this research, we discuss a compression method for the photo image data of Photo AR based on HTML5/JavaScript. We consider cases where photo images are processed with a video format and with the JPEG format.
