  • Abstract
The operation of the microwave compressor driven by a relativistic S-band magnetron, which produces microwave pulses with power up to 250 MW and duration of ~100 ns, is described. The electric strength of the compressor is increased by using the traveling wave resonator which does not require a resonant interference switch for release of the stored energy. A preliminary results of the energy release into a load at a power of >1GW with the use of a ferrite circulator are presented.
