  • Abstract
    In this paper, the computation of partial fractional derivatives of a digital image using discrete cosine transform (DCT) is presented. First, the definition of partial fractional derivatives of two dimensional (2D) signal is defined. Then, the DCT-based method is used to compute the partial fractional derivatives of a given digital image. Next, the proposed computation method is used to develop the image sharpening and edge detection algorithms. Finally, several numerical examples are demonstrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed computation method.
