Abstract :
Breast Cancer is among the top five cause of cancer death and topmost cause among women worldwide. Multifrequency Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy seems to be promising imaging technique as it is non-invasive, comparatively cheap and no known health hazards. Multi-frequency microcontroller based EIS system has been designed and implemented using function generator (XR-2206 IC), Howland V/I converter, EIS automatic switching system using microcontroller ATmega8, Instrumentation amplifier, Butterworth bandpass filter. This paper focuses on the study of different phantoms like reactive and oval shaped phantom for measuring the performances of the designed multi-frequency EIS system. Measurement on reactive and oval shaped phantom gives a resolution that proposed EIS system is applicable for medical applications.
