Abstract :
An embedded system based on digital signal processor and microprocessor is presented in this paper. The system was designed and developed for six degrees of freedom strong ground motion observation. The hardware of the embedded system was divided into three modules which included data converting module, data pre-processing module and data managing module. Eight channels analog to digital converter chip ADS1278 was used in data converting module. ADSP-BF533 connecting ADS1278 through its serial port is as the data pre-processing module to collect and process the converting data. The core device in data managing module is ARM9 microprocessor AT91SAM9260 that packages and dispatches data to user in real time. Embedded Linux system was adopted to run multi tasks application program in the ARM9 for six degrees of freedom strong ground motion observation.
