Abstract
This paper proposes a concept of null steering to the antennas currently utilized at Base Station (BS) in cellular systems. As a result, interference from neighboring cells can be avoided. The proposed null steering is chosen in vertical plane. This is because the current BS antennas are at present stacked in vertical lattice. From simulation results, the proposed concept enhances the system performance in term of SINR and channel capacity comparing to the one without null steering.
