Abstract
This project aims to demonstrate that the multi-wavelength, multi-distance fNIR probe can function as a reliable measure of cerebral oxygen saturation. The probe will then be used in a project to create a feedback titrated system of oxygen delivery. Current treatment methods for patients receiving supplemental oxygen do not respond dynamically to the patient´s lifestyle, but rather give a fixed dose of oxygen. Our project proposes to develop a system that bases the amount of oxygen delivered to the patient on the oxygen saturation of his or her own blood. This should improve patient care helping to personalize oxygen therapy.
