Abstract :
Robotic assisted surgery offers surgeons increased stability and control during laparoscopic (minimally invasive) procedures. In order to fully understand the capabilities and advantages of robotic assisted surgery, it would be valuable to have a means to simulate and demonstrate robotic surgery for educational purposes. One such proposed system will use the Nintendo Wii remote controller as part of a controller interface for controlling a robotic arm in a robotic surgery simulator.
