  • Abstract
Wind energy conversion systems are growing now-a-days due to environmental concern. Induction generators are one of the best suited machines for wind energy power generation. For variable speed wind energy conversion systems, generator control is the most challenging task. Field oriented control(FOC) and Direct torque control(DTC) are becoming the industrial standards for generator control in a wind energy conversion system. In this paper a Direct torque controlled cage induction generator is presented. The generator is controlled by employing PI controller in the DTC scheme. Then a Sliding mode controller based DTC scheme is simulated and the results are compared. The simulation is done in Matlab.
