Abstract :
The exponential growth in cellular and wireless services that the recent years have witnessed has contributed toward higher level of electromagnetic radiation from high frequency RF devices and their corresponding base stations. The usage of mobile phones and other wireless devices in hospitals makes the communication convenient to patients, doctors, visitors and hospital staff as well it increases productivity. According to several literatures, the high frequency electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones and wireless data devices cause serious concerns to the working of nearby medical equipments. Due to this fact, many countries in the world have restricted the usage of cellular phones inside the hospitals. This paper reviews the few number of research works undertaken to ascertain the EMI between medical equipments and RF devices in health care organizations.
