Abstract :
In this paper, two new Manchester encoders based on transmission logic gates (TLG´s), current sink inverter multiplexer (CSIM) and active N-MOS load inverter multiplexer were presented. Manchester encoding is a special case of binary phase-shift keying (BPSK), where the data controls the phase of a carrier (square wave) whose frequency is the data rate. The Manchester encoder is mainly used in optical communications, digital communications and RF applications etc. The performance of the proposed circuits were examined using Cadence and the model parameters of a 0.18 μm CMOS technology with +1.8 V supply rail voltage. The results obtained demonstrate excellent agreement with theoretical explanation. The proposed topologies are suitable for VLSI implementation.
