Abstract :
Parallel connected operation of flywheel energy storage system (FWES-SYS) with high speed network communication system was proposed. 4,000 of 2kVA flywheel energy storage (FWES) are connected with the network operation based on the high speed network system and the power demand operation will be derived within 50[msec] to the all FWES from the main control unit system. Experiments for network communication using EtherCAT based on FPGA controller is carried out. Communication delay time is measured using Packet Capture instruments. As the result, communication time for 4000 of flywheel energy storage cells (FWES-CELLs) will be estimated as 9.22[msec]. Fundamental characteristics of real time network operation for parallel operation of FWES-CELLs was verified.
