Abstract :
Green-light-enhanced super-continuum generation which covers the range from 500 to 1600 nm with a strong peak at 530 nm in a tapered photonic crystal fibre with pump pulse energy as low as 280 pJ from a mode-locked Yb:fibre laser is reported. By the f-to-2f self-reference technique, a 27 dB fceo signal was detected using the frequency pair at the Yb:laser wavelength (~1060 nm) and this green light peak. It demonstrates the feasibility and high efficiency of fceo beat detection for simplified Yb:fibre laser frequency combs.
