Abstract :
This paper discusses the use of secondary surveillance radar in combination with time of arrival measurements for high-precision localisation of aircraft in airport approach. A robust estimator is proposed that yields close to Cramer-Rao lower bound localisation performance. A method for predicting systematic and statistical positioning errors in case of sensor biases is presented.
