Abstract
The recent discoveries of Brazilian pre-salt oil fields are facing a new scenario in the global oil and gas industry. The latest offshore exploratory and production opportunity requires complex production projects and high technology equipment. Brazilian development oil production master plan determines construction and installation of more than forty offshore platforms. In this scenario, renewable sources emerge as an interesting application in order to mitigate environmental impacts usually caused by oil and gas production activities. Diversification of energy matrix applied at industrial plants by installation of renewable sources can make oil and gas business more sustainable and cleaner. The purpose of this work is to present a qualification and quantification study about renewable energy flows at offshore petroleum and gas production platforms designed for Brazilian Pre-salt oil and natural gas fields. A single platform evaluation is performed by simulating the installation of converters.
