Abstract
In this paper the drop size distribution is estimated via the reflected energy distribution over the polarization spectral components received with the set of the antennas adjusted to receiving signals with different polarization. The drop size distribution estimate is made by determination of the diameters of spherical drops formed just after the fission of the larger deformed drop. The estimate is necessary to find the correspondence of drop size to the polarization components level for wind speed determination using the polarimetric radar.
