Abstract :
The localization and tracking of radio frequency (RF) emitters are important in both civilian and military applications, such as in search and rescue operations and in tracking mobile threats employed by dismounts. In this paper, we consider passive imaging of a non-cooperative moving RF emitter in a multiple-scattering environment, such as an urban area, using an array of sparsely distributed receivers. We develop a method that exploits multiple-scattering to estimate the location and velocity of the emitter. We present numerical simulations to demonstrate the performance of our method.
