Abstract
The sustainable development of western economy is inseparable from the strong support of energy and environment system. This paper researchs 11 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in western China and creates a simulation model of petroleum-environment-economy system by the method of SD. The simulation model shows the basic model and the rapid model oriented by pursuing economy growth are not sustainable. Compared with the basic model, coordinated development model and the guaranteed growth mode have taken the sustainable development, rational development and utilization of energy resources and protection of the ecological environment into consideration. Besides, both of them can reduce the gap of supply and demand of petroleum resources in western region and improve the effectiveness of its support to the sustainable economy development.
