  • Abstract
    Lithium-ion battery (LiB) has gradually become serious concern for various environmental problems, especially in Japan, where the argument on a nuclear power plant problem is active. With taking into account that reuse of LiB has been attracting attention as well, long-term use is expected. However, method to ensure LiB life has not been developed, and users of LiB are forced to accept the uncertainty of LiB life now. Therefore this study suggests an evaluation method for LiB life using degradation speed database based on experiment and use pattern of LiB. This evaluation method has three elements, defining indexes to develop this method, preparing degradation speed database from the result of experiment, and setting up the use pattern of LiB. In order to be usable under non-experimental conditions, degradation speed database has the data in all conditions by complementing the experimental result. Finally, this evaluation model was validated by comparing the result of simulation and experiment. Moreover, by applying stationary use pattern into this method, it was able to be shown that this evaluation method could simulate the degradation of LiB under the conditions which did not experiment.
