Abstract
The articles in this special section focus on broadening our understanding of the role of touch in sensorimotor coordination, including rehabilitation of motor deficits and use of advanced prostheses and orthoses. The articles presented in this issue confirm that the science and technology of haptics has great potential to affect the outcomes of rehabilitation and adoption of advanced prosthetic and orthotic devices.
