Abstract :
PM-QPSK 100G coherent technology based packet optical solution is creating new multilayer convergence network architecture. The black link standardization is expanding from 10G to 100G physical interfaces and leads to line side interoperability between different vendors. In addition, efforts are under way to define a network management interface. A packet optical solution is reviewed and the operation model of the new network architecture based on packet optical solution is discussed. The final goal is an open packet optical network architecture and the key ingredient is the path computation element that enables an integrated provisioning for IP/MPLS and wavelength.
