  • Abstract
The maximum power of the internal combustion engine of traditional vehicles was designed to meet the requirements of running at the limit load. When then design was determined, the car´s displacement could no longer be adjusted. However, the limit load was not often. That´s means the internal combustion engine´s maximum power had a great surplus. Therefore, at most of its time, the internal combustion engine was forced to work in low-speed, low-load condition, which was very detrimental to energy conservation. In this paper, a new type of internal combustion engine was designed innovatively based on its traditional structure. This new type of internal combustion engine could timely adjust its displacement according to its actual load, which fundamentally eliminated its performance defects of high fuel consumption and serious pollution in the low-load condition.
