Abstract :
This paper clarifies roles of the community facility adjacent to the small-scale multi-functional care facility for elderly a people in Omuta city. After describing outlines of eleven community facilities in Omuta city, this paper takes up case studies on the two contrasting facilities, one is very active in its support activities for elderly people, and the other one is not so active. On the basis of the detailed interviews and questionnaires, it is made cleared that the differences between two facilities derived from the mutual relationships between the facility and its local community.
