  • Abstract
This paper deals with the earth resistance measurement using the Fall-of-Potential method and its measurement errors on site measurements. Numerical results are presented in case of a substation and a transmission line tower grid, for various soil structures and auxiliary earth electrode directions. The actual regulations for the place of the potential probe and the distance for the current electrode in the interest of the accurate measurement are analyzed and compared to the standards´ specification. A detailed study is done about the specified and other, typical, possible electrode arrangements. The results of the simulations can significantly help the colleagues´ work in reference to resistance to earth measurements.
