Abstract :
The design and experimental validation of an all-optical scheme to perform the logical XOR of phases between BPSK signals exploiting cascaded SFG/DFG in a PPLN waveguide is presented. The implemented XOR gate acts independently on the central wavelength of the input DPSK signals and therefore does not require additional wavelength or format conversion stage. The scheme has been experimentally demonstrated by performing BER measurements on the obtained XOR function between 10Gb/s DPSK signals.
