Abstract :
We study the gain saturation and polarization dependence of a dual-orthogonal-pump fiber optical parametric amplifier. Polarization-insensitive gain saturation is observed with less than 1 dB power variation. Experimental results suggest that all-optical polarization-insensitive regeneration can be achieved with the proposed configuration, which is also applicable for polarization-multiplexed signals.
