  • Abstract
    The stability and applicability of new cadmium complex, Cdmq2, is investigated for electroluminescent device application. The Cdmq2 is characterised by different characterisation techniques. It shows excellent thermal stability up to 440 °C. A maximum is observed at 390 nm in absorption spectra which attributed to π - π* transition. Organic light emitting diode (OLED) has been fabricated using this material. The integral parts of the device were ITO/α-NPD/Cdmq2/BCP/Alq3/LiF/Al. Electroluminescence (EL) device emits yellowish green light with maximum luminescence 1185 cd/m2 at 23V.
