Abstract :
An important phase of a wind farm design is solving the wind farm layout optimization problem, for which evolutionary algorithms have been used frequently. According to the characteristics of wind farm layout problems, a smoothing operator is presented and adopted into the binary differential evolution. The experimental results show that the new algorithm effectively improves solution quality with less execution time. In addition, irregular wind field layout problem is studied and solved in this paper.
