  • Abstract
The future generations of wireless networks will be the integration of different radio access technologies. Seamless handover in heterogeneous network is still an emerging issue. In mobile communication, the main issues faced are communication delays and packet loss rate which cause the severe degradation in QoS. This is more difficult when the aim is to manifest different services like VoIP, video streaming, data browsing for mobile users. In this paper, we commenced an automatic handover scheme for mobility management in heterogeneous wireless networks. This scheme not only considers the received signal strength (historic decision factor) but also context information which includes link information, user choice, user velocity and other different parameters related to network selection. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme is better than other decision algorithm in terms of mobile user satisfaction.
