  • Abstract
    Shenzhen Baoqing battery energy storage station operated by China Southern Power Grid Power Generation Company is the first MW level battery energy storage station on service in China. This paper introduces the design and implementation method of monitoring and control system in large scale battery energy storage system. The information architecture of large scale battery energy storage system is studied. The features of information exchange between monitoring and control system and battery management system, power conversion system, Shenzhen main station, peak and frequency regulation corporation, 110kV Biling substation and power-grid control system are analyzed. A sectional and hierarchical integration scheme and well-planned distribution of network load are proposed according to these features. IEC61850 communication standard is applied in monitoring and control system. Information models for conventional substation devices are defined according to IEC61850-7-4. Information models for battery and power conversion system are defined according to IEC61850-7-420, specified information standard for distributed energy resources.
