Abstract
Space Vector Modulation (SVM) technique has been in use for inverters applied in three phase three wire system applications in drives. The inverters used are of three leg topology and the vectors are on a two dimensional αβ frame. To apply SVM technique in Low Tension (LT) four wire distribution system, four leg inverters with SVM was explored. The SVM application in a four leg inverter needs a three dimensional frame of reference. The αβγ frame is one of the two existing three dimensional frames and has been used in this work. The new algorithm with a mathematical model has been presented in this paper which eliminates limitations of earlier works. A MATLAB simulation is presented to validate the performance of the proposed algorithm and the mathematical model. This algorithm can make four leg Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) with SVM, a preferred option for Power Quality applications in four wire distribution systems.
