Abstract :
To achieve more accurate 3-D measurements, Active Stereo Vision through structured-light illumination involves the projection of a series high-frequency fringe patterns to suppress uncertainty from additive noise. Typically, the phase derived from the high-frequency patterns must be unwrapped spatially or temporally. Spatial approaches fail for discontinuous targets while temporal methods need additional fringe patterns. In this paper, we propose a phase channel multiplexing pattern strategy with improved resilience to errors along surface discontinuities without the need for intermediate patterns, making it suited for real-time applications.
