Abstract :
Compared with traditional silicon solar cells, organic thin film photovoltaic devices (PVs) have many advantages such as low-cost, flexibility, and large area. In this study, we studied improvement of the organic hetero-junction photovoltaic (HJ PV) cell performance, in particular the open-circuit voltage (Voc), by fine-tuning the work function of the hole collecting indium-tin-oxide (ITO) electrodes. To increase the work function of the hole collecting ITO electrodes, surface chemical modification of ITO with 4-chlorophenyl-dichlorophosphate and 4-benzenesulfonyl chloride with different terminal groups was applied.
