Abstract
The model of sound scattering by elastic cylindrical shell is built and the mathematical expressions of sound pressure and velocity are deduced. Then the influences of sound scattering on the directivity of vector sensor are simulated at different incident frequencies, shell thicknesses and observing distances. The result shows that when the incident frequency is close to the resonating frequency, the directivity of each receiving channel distorts. If the thickness of the shell becomes thinner, the resonating frequency transfers to higher frequency, and in far-field the directivity in total field is better than that in near-field.
