Abstract :
Polycarbonate (PC) material is gradually substituted for the glass material as window pane in automobile. However, noise insulation performance of PC pane is poor than glass pane because of its high rate of stiffness to low weight. The purpose of this paper is to improve insulation performance of PC pane adopting sandwich structure. In this paper, a new formulation procedure is proposed to predict the transmission loss of sandwich PC pane utilizing a concept of transmission impedance. By studying representative numerical results from the two different types of models, the various parameter influence parameter on TL are explored. It will be demonstrated that the proposed method can be easily applied to more general problems about sandwich panels.
