Abstract
Precipitation has significant impacts on crop growing, which is indicated by NDVI. NDVI-precipitation correlation accompanied with different NDVI temporal responses to precipitation have been widely investigated. However, various factors (e.g. crop type, soil profile) contribute to variances of NDVI-precipitation correlation. Few studies have quantitatively studied NDVI-precipitation correlation from this perspective. Following previous studies, this paper quantified NDVI-precipitation correlation with the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. Temporal response of NDVI to precipitation was delineated and revealed with the help of precipitation lag-duration schema. Additionally, NDVI-precipitation correlation was analyzed with stratification of different crop types and soil permeability.
