Abstract
Drastic developments are being achieved in the field of science and technology. Every innovation has got its merits and demerits. Compatibility is an important factor along with performance when it comes to technology. Compatibility can be achieved by using compression techniques. These techniques play a vital role in reducing the size of the device or chip, along with increasing the power efficiency and clock rate. There are various compression algorithms present which are very much helpful in achieving Compatibility along with achieving higher efficiency. Some of the compression algorithms that are available are Huffman coding algorithm, SAMC algorithm, LZW algorithm and so on. Based on the application and requirements the required algorithms can be chosen. In this paper we are about to use these algorithms to compare these algorithms with each other´s and evaluate its performance.
