Abstract
The electromagnetic reflection from peaceful water surface causes multi-path effect, which will make the marine radar suffer from a blind zone of detection at some ranges. In this paper the relationship between the antenna vertical height and the detection blind zone is analysed. Moreover, in accordance with the scenario of installing multiple marine radars on one ship, a design principle for the vertical heights of multiple radar antennas is proposed, which reduces the blind zone coverage with the optimized combination of different vertical heights.
