  • Abstract
    Conventional SAR image formation algorithms are based on data collection geometries. We propose a model-based SAR image formation scheme in this paper. Compared with conventional geometry-based SAR imaging algorithms, model-based imaging technique is independent of specific geometry, and focuses the backscattered echoes progressively by estimating parameters of each signal component. Two realizations of the model-based imaging scheme via atomic decomposition are presented in this paper, and simulation experiment validates the performance of the imaging technique.
