Abstract :
This paper firstly introduces generation mechanism and motion characteristics of ocean mesoscale eddies. Then a simple cross-sectional model of mesoscale eddy is set up. At last, it makes a study on the simulation of mesoscale eddies with Shipboard High Frequency Surface Wave Radar, by using point target synthesis and analysing the sum echo signals within the area affected by mesoscale eddies. The article gives the sea clutter spectrums of mesoscale eddies in different cases, providing an effective theoretical basis for the monitoring of mesoscale eddies under ideal situation.
