Abstract
The self-admittance of a rectangular waveguide longitudinal slot is determined using the Y parameter simulation results of commercial software HFSS and the active admittance is determined using Elliott equations in that the internal and external mutual couplings are taken into account . “Approaching ideal active admittance” cost function is present and the radiating slot dimensions are optimized in genetic algorithm. In this paper, the above method has been used to design a Ku-waveband slot linear array of 3 × 24 elements. The simulating result of 3 dB side lobe level drop show that the method is feasible.
