Abstract :
Multi-photon photoemission and thermionic emission from bulk photocathodes typically require high-intensity (~MW/cm2) light such as that produced by a high-power pulsed laser. In contrast, we report non-linear photoemission from macroscopic-size arrays of vertically-aligned multiwalled carbon nanotubes (CNT forests) excited by a low-power (mW), continuous-wave, ultraviolet (4.66 eV) laser beam.
