Abstract :
Airborne forward looking SAR using linear array antennas technology can obtain the image in front of the craft, which overcomes the deficiency of traditional SAR. The obtaining images can apply a new method for precise control and guide, navigation and landing and so on. This paper analyses the echo model based on geometry of forward looking array SAR and presents an imaging algorithm for forward looking array SAR firstly. Then an array imaging system at Ka-band and the data acquisition are described briefly. Furthermore, the imaging algorithm is complemented with the process of real data which is acquired in the experiment. Finally, the comparison between experimental results and local measurements is discussed, which demonstrated feasibility of the methodology.
