Moving IME panel for text input method and Shapekey prototype

We devised a novel text input method editor (IME) for smartphone and tablet devices, providing a moving panel as the user interface. We prototyped an IME named "Shapekey" based on this concept and evaluated the advantage of the moving panel. We also compared it with existing IMEs such as T9 input, flick input and so on. Although existing IMEs outperformed our prototype, it was attributed to implementation issues. On the whole, the result proved effectiveness of the concept of moving panel.
