Abstract
In 3GPP LTE-Advanced, relaying is considered as an important means for extending cell coverage and improving capacity. However relays create new cell edge and generate more interference. With the introduction of relay, interference management or coordination is needed. In this paper, we propose a simple yet effective inter-cell interference coordination scheme for an inband relaying system based on joint design of frequency reuse strategies during backhaul and access subframes. Our evaluations show that the proposed framework can improve both the cell average and cell-edge user performance greatly.
