  • Abstract
Common inductive voltage transformers have natural frequencies in the range of some thousand hertz. Thus, their use for harmonic monitoring has to be assessed. By doing some changes in the design of voltage transformers, it is possible to compensate the first resonance. Therefore, it could be possible to use inductive voltage transformers beyond the first natural frequency. However, it is interesting to know if the resonance is still present in the transformer, but not measurable at the secondary coil. With a specially manufactured voltage transformer, it was possible to measure the frequency responses of every winding layer. It is shown how it is possible to measure them and how the voltage is distributed inside the inductive voltage transformer at the first resonance.
