Abstract :
Ubiquitous sharing of content between users has become more prevalent over the years. The advent of smart devices like smart phones and tablets with high end processors has enabled their use in numerous processor intensive use cases that was not possible earlier. High definition streaming to multiple devices and multimedia based applications that require high performance are being considered on mobile devices. While the memory and processor speed of the devices has improved over the years to cater to such applications, the underlying wireless LAN technology has struggled to cope especially when the number of mobile devices is large. In this paper we investigate the use of reliable data transfer mechanism using an active monitor mode to improve the performance of reliable data transfer and streaming to a large number of mobile devices.
